Janie's Profile in the Redding Record Searchlight
 Sunday, September 8, 2002

I was honored this week to be featured in the newspaper.   It was a very nice story, but I wanted to add that without the assistance of so many people (listed below)  I would not be who I am.

"Janie Edwards may not be able to go kayaking on the Sacramento River or even make herself dinner, but she plays an effective part in preserving Shasta County history."

My daughter Ninette and her husband Jay live next door which allows me to live in my home.  Jay keeps the mower working, and he is the one who comes over at midnight to kill the invasion of ants.  :o)

And all the researchers who have helped me, I could not do it without their help!

Audrey Willburn, my cousin started me working on our family tree and we kinda came to a dead end.  Now she comes over once a week to help me transcribe data and work on our county wide family tree.

Gene Amos a cousin in Gridley got me started making webpages.

Elaine Sturdevant does a lot of my typing, she lives in San Leandro and I have never met her

Cheryl Jones & Robin Bills do courthouse research for me, they have done so far 4000 marriages before 1930.  Robin also does lookups for other people.

Shirley Hunter walked the Manton Cemetery

Historical Society has been very Generous in giving me information to use on my site.

Madge Walsh has given me several very large data bases to include

Julie Judish has walked several cemeteries and taken thousands of pictures for me, so I can walk the cemeteries for myself.

Flora Pearson loaned the 1926 voters Register   to copy.

Denise Mills has transcribed several precincts from original census.

Susan Stuart and James Marshall came up from Walnut Creek and spent the night just to walk Ogburn/Inwood cemetery.

Deana Bailey and Dick Marx has walked several cemeteries

Viola Gutierrez sends me a daily transcription.

Ruth Henderson & John Howe have walked cemeteries and gathered maps

Joe Mazanni gave me the 1900 census index

Dottie Smith from the Shasta College Museum has given me permission to post some of her book on my site.

And many online friends who send me info and corrections.

I hope I didn't miss anyone!  As you can see, I've had lots of help!

And Of course the receivers! There cannot be a giver without a receiver!

Thanks for all the support!
