After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.  Matthew 6:9-13

The Lord's Prayer Part 5

And lead us not into temptation,
He won't if we keep our eyes focused on Him!

God is not the author of confusion.
so if we are in confusion we can know the enemy is involved!

*

Our father would never lead us into temptation,
so if we are tempted we know it is from the enemy.

*

So maybe we should think of that line to say
"Show me the path away from temptation"

but deliver us from evil.

So often we have embraced evil because we didn't recognize it,
until we were trapped, then we need to be delivered.

*

So maybe we should say
"Help us to recognize the evil, so we won't need to be delivered"

I don't want to be one of the (if it were possible)
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:24
