Do What We Do For God
Take heed that ye do not your alms (good deeds) before men, to be seen
of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee,
as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may
have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Matthew 6:1-2
When we get the recognition from man then we have
received our reward.
Now there is nothing wrong with giving openly, in
fact we are encouraged to give to charity, we can even get a tax deductions
for giving openly.
But sometimes giving openly can hurt the receiver
or embarrass them.
So those times God will reward us.
That thine alms (good deeds) may be in secret: and thy Father
which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. Matthew 6:4
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of
the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colossians
3:17
So what we do, are we doing it for God or so man
will notice.
Song playing is "Thay that wait upon the Lord."
