Expect Good Things
Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he
give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
If ye then, being evil (earthly), know how to give good gifts unto your
children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good
things to them that ask him? Matthew 7:11
If we who are human like giving good things to our
kids,
just imagine how God wants to give to us.
As children when we asked for things, we expected
to get them,
so we should expect from God.
Most of us have been taught to not expect things.
Sometimes we even say this is all we deserve, make
do with what we get.
But God is a God of love and wants to give us good
things
so we need to expect them so God has the ability
to give them.
God will not force our hand to open and accept what
He gives.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh
down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow
of turning. James 1:17
I could not find one place in the New
Testament after Jesus paid for our sin by death on the cross that He would
punish us. Just as we would not give bad things (like cancer) to
our children, So God does not give to us the evil things.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good
works. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
God reasons with us His children through His Word,
the Bible.
So expect something good
today!
