Shake it Off

A parable is told of a farmer who owned an old mule.  The mule fell into the farmer's well.   After carefully assessing the situation, decided that neither the mule nor the well were worth the  trouble of saving.  He called his neighbors together and told them what had happened...and enlisted them to help haul dirt to bury the old mule in the well and put him out of his misery. With every shovel of dirt he shook it off and stepped up. After a while he was out of the well.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

When we fall in the well (or pit) it seems like it is the end, but it is only the shadow of death.

If we pay attention we can see God's hand all around, protecting us.

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.  Genesis 50:20

Every time we go through something,
God will use it to help us get out of the pit.
Even if it was meant to hurt us.

People and circumstances might say...

They mean well...
Doesn't concern me
It's your own fault

But God says:

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  Romans 8:28

Even if we can't understand how anything good could
come out of our situation, if we trust God it will happen.
