Temptation
The desire to have or do something that you know you should avoid.
One dictionary said a trial.

There are so many temptations in life.
The ones I call fluff, the ones that feed the body.
Sugar, caffine, nicotine, drink
 
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.  Matthew 26:41

The temptations that make us dissatified -- things.
If I had that, I would be happy -- biggest lie ever.
If we had that we would want something else.
 
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Romans 7:25

And the BIG one, the ones that make us doubt God.
This one we can call trials.
They become so extreme we don't consider them temptations, but they are sent to make doubt God's love.
 
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.  1 Corinthians 10:13
