The Other Son

And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
Luke 15:29-31
The son who had never left home was jealous of his father's love for his brother.
But the father very gently told him that he loved both boys.
Everything the father had was at the son's disposal anytime he wanted anything.
We have to be careful not to think we are better than others.

Sounds kind of like Jonah, he didn't want the people of Nineveh to repent, he was being an "I'm holy and you are not" person.  That cost him 3 days in the belly of a big fish. (he called it hell)

It has been said that the ones who love God all their lives will have a better place in heaven.
Not so!  But we do have the chance to gain all the benefits while with the Father now.
For there is no respect of persons with God.  Romans 2:11
A person who has always loved God, has learned from an early age that love is a gift that cannot be earned, and doesn't normally doubt it as much.
But that does not give permission to look down on those who struggle to accept God's love.
The ones that like Eve, in the Garden of Eden, was convinced by satan that God doesn't care.

Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.  Luke 7:47
Everybody does not need a colorful background,
Sometimes it is the keeping power of God,
That shows God's Grace.
