Commandments

After so many years of adding extra bits to the 10 Commandments by the Religious leaders the original 10 were lost. So Jesus did not do away with them, but He explained them.

If we truly love we would not do anything to hurt another. God or human!

These 4 ...

Have to do with the way we are expected to respond to God. ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~

1 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

2 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.

3 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain.

4 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Jesus knowing the heart of man explained it this way

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. Mark 12:30

And These 6 ...

Tell us how to treat other people. ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~

5 Honour thy father and thy mother.

6 Thou shalt not kill.

7 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

8 Thou shalt not steal.

9 Thou shalt not bear false witness.

10 Thou shalt not covet

Jesus said this is how to keep them. Plus a few others.

And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. Mark 12:31

If we really fall in love with God, we will have no problem with any of these!

A Good example is campgrounds. There used to be two rules, pack it in, pack it out, and be careful with fire. People abused the two rules, now we have to pay, and there is a long list of rules.

GOD IS STILL FREE!

So if we learn to love we will keep more than those 10!
