He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness  Psalm 23:3b   HE leads, are we following? Or does He need to give the leash a tug?     Or are we going our own way?   Since we don't always know which way to go, and don't always know how to hear His voice, He uses circumstances to help guide us.

How about that thing you really wanted and couldn't get no matter how you tried, only to get something better, or discover you didn't want it anyway.

For example: Years ago I wanted a palm tree!  We went and got a very small one late in the summer. I figured it would do good getting the rains to settle it in.  The next summer it died. I was real disappointed! But it got me to start noticing all the Palm trees. The ones that were cared for, had enormous cleanup, the ones not cared for were not so pretty. Oh God answered the prayer I forgot to pray. The birds planted a Pecan tree in that spot, much nicer!

That delay that keeps us from getting where we are going, only to find out there was a big wreck we would have been in.

My favorite: In the store, my heart says don't buy those eggs, I say I need those eggs, my heart says don't buy those eggs. After getting the eggs then walking the whole store then putting them back, before leaving, get home and find out my mother had been by and dropped off 3 dozen eggs.

If you want to hear the voice of God, get real close and listen, He whispers! But no matter what He is always there!
