A Time for Everything

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

We are most times too impatient, we want what we want yesterday.  But everything has to grow.  Nothing just is.  Flowers and trees grow and mature and only put forth fruit, or blooms for a season.  Then they begin storing up to do it again next year.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1Corinthians 15:57

Some trees look dead in the winter, preparing for next year.  Some are evergreens constantly growing and changing. They shed the dead needles all year.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:3

As long as we are standing where we were planted, it might not seem like we are doing anything, but we are in God's plan if we just stand.

God makes all kinds of trees.  Some are tall and regal.  Some are short and twisted. On the coast line they grow the way the wind blows. Some are hit by lightening, Some feel the pressure of heavy snow. And God does not have a favorite kind. He puts the ones where He needs them.

I have never seen this happen. Trees and plants grow where God plants them.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:13
