Wages - vs - Gift

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

Since we are born into sin the only kind of wages we can earn are from sin. We have to accept God's gift of redemption to receive life.

Seems strange that more people would serve God if they could earn it. But if they have to accept it as a Gift it is harder. We can't buy it either! We have to accept it by faith.

If we get what we deserve, it is death. But if we accept what God gives, it is eternal life.

Things we never hear from the death bed: I wish I had not spent so much time praying. I wish I hadn't spent so much time with my family. Wish I would have spent more time working. Wish I hadn't went to church so much.

Notice! the cross is empty!

But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; Hebrews 10:12
