Wish or Desire
Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires
of thine heart.
Psalm 37:4
So often we have a wish, not a desire.
We wish we could, like a New Years Resolution.
Lose weight, exercise, or stop a bad habit.
Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh,
it is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12
It has to grow to a desire before God sees it.
When a person is training for a sport,
they don't just wise it, it becomes a desire,
Or they could not work at it so hard.
So often the wish is in our head,
until it becomes a desire in our heart we will never
accomplish it.
We often confuse a wish for a real desire.
Sometimes we have to ask God to give us a true desire,
in other words change our wish to a desire.
If we cannot do it,
Ask God to give us the desire.
