Receiving May be Giving
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought
to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he
said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35
Most of us have no problem giving.
But how about the receiving?
There cannot be a giver without a receiver.
We get so determined to take care of ourselves
we rob other people of the ability to give.
Next time we are doing something and someone
offers to help, consider if we are robbing someone else of the ability
to give to us. Maybe we need to learn to accept. Most of us
know how to give.
Have we ever given someone something out of love
and they refused it? We somehow feel cheated. Are we doing that to
others?
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us
all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Romans
8:32
Seems one reason some people have a hard time
accepting God's love is because it is free. If it could be
earned or purchased everybody would have it. All God wants in return
is our love, we have to be the receiver.
